Sr. Research Associate

About the role:

This key position will play a hands-on role in the company’s use of a wide variety of molecular biology and protein purification techniques in support of various research and production projects. The Research Associate will partner closely with other team members within the group assisting with research and/or development on company projects. They will make observations, analyze data, and interpret results with full supervision.

You will join a dedicated group of scientists and lab professionals in a recently expanded lab, working on the latest cutting-edge technology.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Execute experiments under full direction of supervisor.
• Work as part of the team to implement experimental plans.
• Thorough documentation of the work, contribute to data analysis and interpretation of results.
• Help assessing information to ensure data quality and completeness of results.
• Ability to communicate results to supervisor and peers.
• Strong organization skills, able to handle multitasks with help from team members.
• Assist with regular assigned laboratory maintenance duties.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in molecular biology or a related field
• One year of relevant laboratory experience in an academic or industrial setting

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in molecular biology or a related field
• Expertise in the following aspects:
o General understanding of molecular biology principles.
o General laboratory skills required.
• Detail-oriented, organized, ability to implement protocols and maintenance of a detailed lab notebook.
• Ability to communicate results to supervisor and peers.
• Keep proper records and documented laboratory notebook.
• Manage goals within defined timeframes.
• Anticipate problems to minimize issues and work to resolve any issues to minimize impact on success of projects.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multitasks.
• Assist with regular assigned laboratory maintenance duties
• Flexibility with work schedule to accommodate deadlines to customers

You’re a passionate life science professional with at least a year of lab experience, with a natural inclination toward attention-to-detail and accuracy.
