Job Summary

Working within Category Marketing’s Kits and Assays team, the role will lead product management and marketing efforts for Abcam’s Quantitative Protein Assays (QPA) product lines. As Senior Product Manager you will oversee all aspects of managing the QPA portfolio, including SimpleStep ELISA kits, Matched Antibody Pairs, and OEM ELISA Kits. 
You will review and adjust the strategy for these products, and will work directly with R&D, Manufacturing, and other marketing teams to implement the plan, including new products, positioning, sales training, etc. You will also work closely with members of the team to compliment and leverage other assay products spanning cellular assays, epigenetic kits, and Abcam’s new Firefly multiplexing technology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advocate for researchers who need to quantify proteins. Working with the Consumer Insights team, develop a deep understanding of their needs and enable tailored solutions.
  • Analyze market trends and provide competitor analysis to assist in portfolio strategy development.
  • Work with the Digital team to optimize SEO, PPC and internal web searches.
  • Develop and deliver effective value propositions and top-level messaging. Ensure that all tactical marketing content presents an integrated marketing message to Abcam customers.
  • Proactively manage Abcam’s ELISA portfolio, which comprises multiple product lines.
  • Work with the Reagents, Kits and Assays, Product Development and Manufacturing, and Supplier Management teams to make build/buy/partner and rationalization decisions to broaden and deepen the portfolio.
  • Monitor product quality within the QPA portfolio and work with Product Development and Manufacturing and Supplier Management to recommend and implement improvement strategies.
  • Implement the marketing and content strategy for the QPA portfolio, working closely with the Research Area Content team, eCommerce, Events Planning, Marketing Communications, and other stakeholders.
  • Support regional offices in US, Europe, Hong Kong, Japan, China, Australia, and New Zealand, as well as worldwide distributors, through product expertise, problem resolution and training on products.
  • Propose and manage a budget for all QPA marketing activities. Build and manage monitoring tools to track KPIs and ROIs.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in the Life Sciences
  • 2 years of experience in a proteomics-focused laboratory or organization
  • 5 years of experience in product management or content marketing in a biotechnology company selling in the life science market
  • Preferred Requirements:
  • M.S. or PhD in biology or related field
  • Experience managing and growing an ELISA product portfolio
  • Must demonstrate outstanding communication skills, with a proven track record of building effective relationships
  • Prior experience in digital marketing analytics, pricing analyses and/or strategic planning.
