Senior Associate Scientist

About the role:

We are seeking highly talented, passionate and goal driven professionals to join our team. Our group focuses on challenging, technology driven projects to improve recombinant antibody development and produce best quality affinity reagents.
The successful candidate will play a hands-on role in the company’s use of a wide variety of molecular biology, genomics and proteomics techniques in support of multiple research and development projects. This professional must possess a strong background in immunology, molecular and cell biology and/or antibody development. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute intellectually to the research program, be willing to tackle difficult technical challenges and perform toward our deliverables.

About the Department:

Our group focuses on challenging, technology-driven projects to improve recombinant antibody development and produce the highest quality affinity reagents.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Apply and develop new experimental capabilities related to antibody discovery.
  • Develop and optimize robust, scalable strategies for improving process, workflow and performance.
  • Work independently to deliver on specific individual and corporate objectives. 
  • Work collaboratively with other members of the R&D staff, on and off-site, and contribute to and/or deliver on specific strategic initiatives.
  • Conduct day-to-day problem solving, work prioritization, and co-ordination across the team and other groups to ensure project deadlines are met.
  • Perform data analysis; write reports and present results and project assessments to Senior Management

M.S. in biology or related field
5 years of relevant lab experience
One year of experience in next generation sequencing including library generation and data analysis


PhD in genetics, immunology, molecular biology or related discipline with 0-3 years postdoctoral experience
Working knowledge of NGS library generation and sequencing
Experience with NGS data analysis
Experience with antibody characterization assays including ELISA, cell-based ELISAs, flow cytometry and FACS sorting is preferred
Prior experience working in industry, highly preferred.
Highly-proficient with Microsoft Suite
Must possess and demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills

About You:

You have a strong background in biology and a foundation with NGS technology. You possess leadership qualities and will provide supervision and mentorship to junior staff. You have experience making detailed observations, analyzing data, interpreting results and making recommendations to senior staff and management. You succeed in a fast-paced environment and have the ability to communicate clearly and constructively.
