Overview of your role as a Logistics Apprentice

Abcam, a rapidly expanding bioscience organisation, are looking for an enthusiastic Logistics Apprentice. As a Logistics Apprentice you will be involved in a range of specialised logistics services, playing a key role in getting our products delivered to leading researchers and scientists, helping them to discover more faster. 

You will be empowered to take initiatives, make decisions and manage your own workflow and you will learn from highly dedicated and passionate people.

Your roles and responsibilities

You will be part of a friendly and successful team, being involved with aliquotting scientific products from our global production centres, placing stock into state of the art temperature controlled storage facilities as well as prioritising shipments to ensure customer orders are fulfilled efficiently, accurately and on time.

You will also engage in key departmental activities which contribute to the successful operation of logistics, such as testing product samples to guarantee our high-quality criteria and managing our stock inventory levels. In addition to the daily workflow, there are many individual development opportunities to be had. Learning experiences throughout the organisation provide training of invaluable skills vital for advancing career ambitions in science.

  • You will be expected to work equally as part of a team or on an individual basis, displaying solid organisational and problem-solving skills to meet tight deadlines.
Qualifications required

Minimum of 5 GCSEs, grades A-C (or predicted grades). These must include English, Maths, and a science subject.

Future prospects

On successful completion of your qualification we expect you to have gained the skills and knowledge to join the team on a permanent basis. At Abcam, we do promote internal movement and therefore there could be opportunities in either Logistics or other departments depending on your skills and interest.
