Head of Growth Marketing

Abcam is searching for an enthusiastic, seasoned Head of Growth who can lead the development of its online channels to drive near and long term revenue growth. This includes taking overall responsibility for our Digital Marketing including SEO, PPC and other forms of online advertising as well as optimization and development of the website. They will be expected to work closely with category managers, IT and other marketing functions to deliver on the company’s strategy and objectives. The role is ideal for someone who is results and data driven, has a strong performance marketing background, enjoys being agile, and a track record of leading teams and partnering well with developers and technology counterparts.
Roles & responsibilities:
- Devise and implement data-led acquisition strategies to drive double digit annual revenue growth across Abcam’s global business
- Optimise each part of the sales funnel and optimise for profitable unit economics
- Set targets, budgets and overall strategy and lead your team to execute campaigns and other growth initiatives through to completion
- Scale existing paid and unpaid channels including PPC, social, SEO and uncover creative, non-traditional and new methods of acquiring users
- Partner with our Analytics team to measure the impact of each campaign, and develop ways to profitably scale
- Manage and develop the paid digital and SEO marketing teams as well as our agency partners
You have a bachelors degree (STEM degree, a plus) along with extensive experience working in digital, tech, marketing and/or ecommerce. You are analytical, creative and innovative with the ability to solve business problems and confidently make decisions. You are experienced in line managing teams and individuals to perform at their best – this includes giving clarity on people’s roles, setting objectives, monitoring performance, and coaching and developing people where needed. You thrive working in a collaborative environment and are comfortable leading group discussions and brainstorming activities.
You will have demonstrable experience in implementing data-led marketing strategies & using web analytics tools, a proven track record of increasing user acquisition, engagement and retention and meeting/exceeding revenue and profitability goals. You have experience in scaling acquisition strategies geographically and a love of data so that you can identify and size different growth opportunities. You can synthesize complex ideas into actionable recommendations for senior executives. You are equally commercially driven and consumer experience driven. You have an energetic and willing attitude and plenty of determination.
