Associate BI Developer

About the role: 

 
Abcam is looking for an Associate BI Developer to deliver reporting solutions to a variety of customers within Abcam.
 
Reporting to the BI Team Leader, the Associate BI Developer will be responsible for working with the BI Team and internal stakeholders to deliver data and reports as well as expanding our data warehouse.

 

Roles & responsibilities:

  •  Provide first line support on tactical requests to the BI team.
  • Build Tableau data sources, which can be used by internal stakeholders to self-serve their reporting needs.
     
  • Provide training and support in Tableau and other BI platforms to internal stakeholders.
     
  • Design and build new tables in our Oracle SQL Enterprise Data Warehouse.
     
  • Work with business users to understand and document requirements and communicate progress on projects.
 

About you:

  • You will be proficient with writing SQL code, preferably in either Microsoft (T-SQL) or Oracle (PL/SQL) dialects. This would include SELECT queries, joins and aggregation.
     
  • You will understand basic databasing principles like normalization, views and primary and foreign key relationships.
     
  • You will preferably have worked with data visualization tools like Tableau, Qlik or PowerBI or made dashboards and reports in Excel.
     
  • You will have a degree in a numerate subject.
