Project Coordinator (12 months contract)
About the role:
Are you interested in antibody development and looking to pursue a career in scientific project management? The role of project coordinator is an ideal early career opportunity supporting custom antibody projects, driving them through major milestones and to successful completion.
You will receive formal and on-the job training while working with an exceptionally dedicated team of project managers, technical staff, and customer relationship managers. You will also have exposure to all aspects of the Abcam custom antibody development process.
You will receive support and training with the objective of enabling you to work independently.
We are expanding and optimizing as a team and you will help shape process improvements and the team’s impact and influence.
This is a 12-month contract opportunity.

In Custom Solutions, our global team develops tailor-made, best-in-class rabbit monoclonal antibodies for diverse research and diagnostic targets and applications. - As a project coordinator, you would:
Assist the project manager in managing and documenting project timelines to ensure accurate and on-time delivery to customers
- Request and manage outsourced work with contract organizations
- Source and order critical reagents for use within customer projects
Correspond with customers, including obtaining detailed technical specifications for projects, providing them with project timelines and updates
- Attend, document, and lead customer facing meetings
Prepare data reports, product datasheets, and presentations for internal use and for customer communications
Request lab work and communicate project specifications to technical teams
Support project logistics, prepare documentation, package outgoing shipments and receiving incoming materials
- Keep accurate records
Contribute to group meetings, including reporting project data, planning and troubleshooting
Seek out partnerships and collaborations throughout Abcam to identify or create the best solutions for the project or the team
- Participate in internal and external training to improve your skills
Proactively help the team meet our key performance indicators
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a biological science discipline
Coursework or work experience in an academic or industry lab
Familiarity with Microsoft Office products, including Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook and Word
Demonstrated interest in project management
Dedicated, analytical, thoughtful, considerate, thorough and with exceptional attention to detail
1-2 years of education or work experience in immunology, molecular biology, cell biology, biochemistry, immunohistochemistry, or related fields
Previous project management or project coordination experience
Intrinsically motivated and an enthusiastic team player
Dedicated, hardworking, and enjoy a fast-paced and close-knit team environment
