About the role 

Working as part of the Data and Advanced Analytics team you will be responsible for data management, analytics and reporting of our internal data. Reporting to the Senior Insight Analyst, this role is responsible for extracting, transforming and presenting our customer and product data to develop insights and recommendations to help Abcam best serve the life sciences community. You will be working with stakeholders right across Abcam, from our sales and marketing teams, to our research and development team, promoting data focused business decisions and insights.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Analysing internal data to deliver insight that directs and refines our efforts to achieve commercial objectives, e.g. acquisition, profitability and retention.
  • Internal expert on the organisation’s customer and product data,
  • Work with other members of the data and advanced analytics team to review and combine outputs and insights from different sources, to provide joined up insight and build the bigger picture to guide business outcomes.
  • Develop occasional Tableau dashboards and produce reports and insights for internal stakeholders, develop reports internally to measure; performance, analyse trends and opportunities, produce insight and work to develop more predictive insight.
  • Together with the Data Governance teams ensure data is accurate and recommend improvements to address gaps.
  • Understand the data flows and dependencies between different systems and processes.
  • Support the data migration and data cleansing projects and initiatives that require detailed understanding of data, report delivery and recommendations to address gaps.

 About you:

You are an analytical thinker, methodical, inquisitive with a keen eye for detail. You have the ability to analyse data and draw insights and conclusions from this data, turning them into actionable recommendations for stakeholders across the business. You have strong interpersonal skills which means you will connect easily with company stakeholders. Having worked extensively with data using SQL, you will be able to convey ideas and recommendations in a clear, compelling and succinct way in written and verbal communications. Some experience with Python or R would also be advantageous.

You will have experienced working with data across its complete lifecycle and worked with visualisation and reporting tools such as Tableau or Power BI to turn data quality stats into information to support outcomes. Comfortable collaborating with and supporting a team and also working independently, you are agile, quick to learn and committed to delivering results.
