An exciting opportunity has recently arisen to join the Strategic Programme Office (SPO) team as a Change/Project Manager. This role will join the SPO team focusing on supporting a range of strategic projects across Abcam. It is a fantastic chance for someone to specialise in the people side of change, including changes to business processes, systems, ways of working. As projects transition from solution readiness to operational readiness, you will play a key role in ensuring the successful transition and adoption, and minimising resistance.

About the Strategic Programme Office team
 

Abcam has an ambitious strategy and an aggressive transformation agenda. To drive this agenda, Abcam is actively building a Strategic Programme Office. This office is focused on helping to ensure we deliver maximum value from our strategy.

 

You will be part of the SPO support team that is made up of a talented group of Change and Project Managers and plays a critical role in helping Abcam deliver key strategic initiatives and applying project and change management best practices to help individuals and teams succeed through change.

 

Roles & responsibilities:
 
  • Working with stakeholders to map out and deliver exactly what is needed to land change successfully (including communications, coaching and training)

  • Engaging with leadership teams & SMEs to understand and mitigate the change impacts and developing change plans

  • Help establish a global change network to strengthen engagement across Abcam businesses

  • Developing and carrying out business readiness assessments with business teams to ensure they understand and are prepared for the change

  • Working alongside the Abcam communications team to develop “know how” material to be cascaded within the business

  • Arranging and facilitating workshops

  • Support identification of training approach and needs

  • Developing project and change plans, managing scope, budget and deadlines

  • Communicating project status, progress and escalating risk and impact to business stakeholders and internal teams

 
About you
 

The ideal candidate will have experience in working on transformation projects from a change / project management point of view. 

A change (Prosci or equivalent) or project management (PRINCE 2 or equivalent) accreditation is beneficial.


                                                      

You should be a team player, able to take responsibility and manage multiple competing priorities with a high attention to detail. We require a strong communicator with a flexible, well organised and adaptable approach.  You should be a problem solver and creative thinker.
